KIDS WIN!™

Dear Supporters of Education in CUSD 95: 

 As we all know, budgets are tight throughout the country and our district is no exception.  The downturn in the economy has filtered down to our district and many beloved activities and extra curriculars are at risk of being eliminated.  However, you as a community have heard the cry and want to support these programs so that they can be preserved.  The School District 95 Educational Foundation is pleased to announce the formation of the Kids Win!™ restricted funds.  Donations to fund the preservation of programs listed at the bottom of this letter can be made to the Foundation.  Donations are tax deductible and will be put into the donor's designated choice of restricted funds through our Kids Win!™ program.    

Here are the instructions for submitting donations:

Each restricted fund must identify a primary contact person to serve as a liaison between the Foundation and the fundraising group.  Primary contact information should be sent to Lori Smith, Foundation Vice Chairman, at lasmith540@aol.com.

• All checks must be made out to “School District 95 Educational Foundation” and mailed to the School District 95 Educational Foundation at 400 S. Old Rand Road Lake Zurich IL 60047.  In the memo section of the check or on an accompanying letter, please detail the restricted fund to receive this donation.  If no restricted fund is indicated, the amount will be put into the general fund to be used at the direction of the Foundation Board of Trustees.  At the end of this letter, you will see the names of all the restricted funds.

• Donations using a credit card can be made to the School District 95 Educational Foundation web site www.District95Foundation.org.  The donation form provides a space to indicate the restricted fund to receive your donation.  If no restricted fund is indicated, the amount will be put into the general fund to be used at the direction of the Foundation Board of Trustees.  The donation amount processed will be net of the credit card fee charged by the credit card processor.

• Your donation may be eligible for your employers matching gift program.  Check with your human resources department and obtain the appropriate paperwork.  Forward the forms with the employee portions completed with your donation.  Matching funds will be applied in accordance with the directions for the employee’s donation.

• The target fundraising amounts are provided by the School District for each program, and are for the 2009 – 2010 school year.  If the amount raised in any restricted fund is less than is necessary to fund the designated program, the District  will determine if the program can be funded in some form, at a lesser level, or if  the funds should be returned to the donors. 

Restricted funds will be subject to an administrative fee of 1%, not to exceed $1,500 per fund. 

Marketing Requirements and Assistance: 

Any group creating a restricted fund through the Foundation must credit the Foundation by including the Foundation logo in any programs, flyers, tickets, etc. are being distributing.   This must receive advance approval for use by LeJane Carson Haeger, Chair of the Foundation’s Public Relations Committee.  LeJane can be reached at lejane@carsonstoga.com.
